1. Confirmation of Agenda

2. Approval of Minutes
Mary-Jane Wilson’s business should be changed to Greig, Wilson
& Brajovic. Moved by Mary-Jane Wilson, Seconded by Peter Stanger,
THAT the Executive Committee Minutes from August 21, 2002 be adopted
with changes noted.
Motion Carried.
3. President’s Report – Brian Hayton
Nothing to report.
4. Secretary’s Report – Lornell Ridley
Lornell confirmed that the following dinner meetings were booked
with Eaglequest at Coyote Creek.
January 21, March 11, May 13 (AGM), September 16, November 18
5. Treasurer Report – Maureen Ruddick
Will report at next meeting.
6. Public Affairs Committee Report – Mary-Jane Wilson
Mary-Jane reported that the Vancouver Sun may publish the picture
of the Fraser Valley Estate Planning Executive. It was mentioned
that it would be great publicity if the Vancouver Sun could do a
profile on Bertie McLean with a picture.
7. Membership Committee Report – Peter Stanger
Peter reported that presently there are 62 members. Support Services
will have proofs by Friday,
November 8, 2002. Will try to get directories for November 19th
dinner meeting. There were 20 non
renewals. The executive agreed to call approximately 5 non renewals
each.
Moved by Mary-Jane Wilson, Seconded by Lornell Ridley, THAT the
renewal rate after January 2003
will be $170.00. All in favour.
8. Program Committee Report – Bryan Jakeman
For the dinner meeting of Nov 19th Mary-Jane will introduce Bertie
McLean.
There are no other speakers lined up thus far.
Brian Hayton has a speaker in mind, Vern Blair, Accountant, who
could speak on marriage breakdown and its issues.
Ian Baker suggested that possibly his partner could speak on individual
pension plans.
Peter Stanger suggested the market conditions would make a good
topic.
It was suggested that Peter McCaskill could possibly do the Quick
Update for January’s meeting. Lornell will speak to Peter.
9. Other Business
a. Associate Member
It was decided to put associate members on our guest mailing list.
This will be reviewed annually.
b. Leave A Legacy
Sponsorship will be renewed at the bronze level. Moved by Bryan
, Seconded by Peter Stanger, THAT Leave a Legacy be renewed at the
bronze level. All in favour.
