Membership Drive –
The letter will be reviewed and sent out to members. Early Bird will be Sept. 1st at a fee of $199 for returning members and $229 for renewals past that date and for new members. We will continue with an incentive for new member referrals. Decided to use Harrison Hot Springs again as a prize as it is close and we had good feedback on it from last year.
ACTION - Pam Prior will get in touch with Harrison Hot Springs Hotel again to arrange.
Charlene Taylor suggested that we have a joint meeting with the Estate Giving through Philanthropy group. They currently meet once a month in the morning but she will check and see if they are interested in having a joint meeting.
Networking – Will have Cheryl Hipwell again calling people from the lists that we have accumulated. Karl Maier suggested that we look at the members of the Society of Notaries for possible members.
Website – the Website is back up and running. Contact for that site is Tony Richardson at 866-853-2980 with AdvisorNet. It was suggested that we should perhaps put speaker presentations on the web site with permission from the speakers. Will look into the feasibility of that.
2006-2007 Speaker List- Rob is still finalizing the list of speakers for next year.
Suggestions for topics could be Health Care and Naturopathies, Tax and Estate Planning, Life Insurance and Critical Illness, CRA and Tax Amnesty. Another idea could be Margaret Mason from The BC Law Society on the Wills Variation Act changes. Another topic could be on aging parents and how to plan for. There was a good response to all of the speakers last year with the exception of Bob Faulkener as the surveys were not handed out at that meeting. However he was very popular and it generated more guests at that meeting. We will need to finalize speakers to send out with renewal letters.
Next meeting will be tentatively July 11th at 9 AM at Rosalyn Manthorpe’s office. The meeting adjourned at 10.30 AM. |
